As a foundation for the service that I offer I will utilise a humanistic approach, which focuses on self-discovery and freewill to bring about change to assist you to achieve your full potential as a human being. As part of this process I will explore all factors that make us who we are, focusing on your uniqueness but also our relationships with others in the world around us. The humanistic approach is typically self-led, helping you to discover your own answers, break free from old patterns of behaviour and unlock your potential. My part will be to offer compassionate support and guide the process of therapy.
Integrative counselling and psychotherapy
However, as stated we are all unique and sometimes other approaches may complement the humanistic approach that underpins my work and this will help to enrich your potential further. I will always involve you, as my client, in the process of therapy and talk to you about these different, complementary approaches. Incorporating other approaches is call ‘integrative’ counselling and psychotherapy. Integrative therapy brings together approaches such as relational psychotherapy, which emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship experienced between client and therapist. In addition to this I might suggest we explore the principles of psychodynamic psychotherapy, childhood attachment and how you form relational attachments in your adult-adult relationships. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), is something that you might have heard about? It is a popular approach in NHS psychological therapies and is more solution-focused and action orientated. Using the principles and practices of CBT we will explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours together to understand how they impact each other and the implications of how they become distorted and affect how we live.
Facilitating mindfulness and being fully present within and outside of our sessions, complementing the goal of breaking free from old behaviour patterns, will also be a focus in our work together.
I am a great believer in incorporating creative methods, such as writing, art, poetry into my work. However, I am aware that some people may not find creativity easy or obviously beneficial, so I will always talk with you about ways that we could work so that how we work is always meaningful and comfortable for You.
The process of therapy can be strongly transformative but in the early stages of our work together you might experience some emotional discomfort. This is normal and will pass as our relationship deepens and you learn to trust me, the process, and most importantly, yourself.
I would be privileged to walk alongside you on your journey of personal growth.
Being in our own head can feel isolating and challenging – talking and having another person alongside you will help you to feel less lonely with your thoughts and feelings. If this resonates with you, please contact me and I’ll accompany you on your journey to ‘escape your mind’.

A place to talk and explore openly without judgment, only empathy and unconditional positive regard. Space for you to have a voice and time away from daily life to grow in a safe therapeutic environment.
If you would like to explore this further, please contact me for an initial consultation to discuss working collaboratively together. This is charged at £45 an hour where we can explore your wants and needs and how they can be met through working together therapeutically.

As a foundation for the service I provide, I utilise Humanistic therapy focusing on self-discovery, freewill and achieving full potential as a human being exploring all the factors that make us who we are. I will focus on our uniqueness and our relationship and the relationship we have with the world around us. The approach is self-led helping you to explore the answers that are right for you and helping you to break free from old behavioural patterns and unlock your potential.
However as stated we are all unique therefore, I feel sometimes other approaches may compliment this and enrich our potential further. Therefore, I may also use other approaches such as Relational therapy which emphasizes the importance of the connection and therapeutic alliance between myself and my clients.
Complimenting the humanistic approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which explores our thoughts, feelings and behaviours and how they impact each other and the implications this may have if they become distorted. I believe sometimes the way we think can originate from our childhood and I may use Psychodynamic theory to work through feelings and emotions this may elicit to promote personal growth.
I find a beneficial way of facilitating this is using creative methods such as writing, art and poetry however I am aware that some individuals do not find creative methods beneficial therefore I identity as an integrative counsellor working in a collaborative way to ensure the most effective therapy for personal growth.
I therefore would be privileged to walk alongside you on your journey of personal growth, I personally find being in my own head quite challenging and isolating, if this resonates with you, please contact me and I’ll accompany you on your journey to escape your mind.
